RDA Orana Road and Rail Business Cases

Welcome to 'Connecting Orana and Hunter with Beyond - Golden Highway and Rail Corridor Business Cases' Project. A collaboration between Regional Development Australia Orana and The Stable Group Australia.

Description

The RDA Orana and RDA Hunter are jointly applying for funding under the NSW Government's Regional NSW-Business Case and Strategy Development Fund. Their proposal focuses on infrastructure development for the Transport Strategy, specifically linking Orana and Hunter with Beyond via the Golden Highway Corridor. The application adheres to NSW Government Business Case Guidelines (TPP 18-06) and encompasses community consultation, comprehensive corridor planning, various transportation modes (including autonomous and air-borne options), and sustainable design approaches. The project also involves consultations with project proponents across sectors in the Orana, Hunter, and Central Coast regions.

Our Role

The Stable Group took on a pivotal role in the grant application process for RDA Orana and RDA Hunter, focusing on securing funding for their ambitious Transport Strategy. Our initial efforts involved crafting detailed governance documents and a comprehensive project management plan, leading to successful funding acquisition for the proposed infrastructure upgrades. Subsequently, we continued to contribute to the project by conducting pre-construction studies and developing a robust business case for the Golden Highway Corridor Development (Road & Rail). This included collaborating closely with stakeholders from various industries to gather diverse perspectives and ensure a well-rounded approach. Our responsibilities extended to quantifying benefits of an integrated transport approach, evaluating existing infrastructure performance, and identifying network efficiencies. Additionally, TSG conducted a thorough benefit-cost analysis and business case assessment, aligning with NSW Treasury Guidelines. Throughout these endeavours, The Stable Group maintained a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement, environmental considerations, and cost-effective design models, showcasing a diverse range of skills from analysis to business case development.
